We have new EPs, songs, and music videos that are sure to satisfy your appetite for quality hip-hop. Let’s begin!
Ginoong Rodriguez (Batas) - "44thComing"
Batas surprised us all with the release of his EP “44thComing”. The 2014 and 2015 Isabuhay Champion changed his moniker to Ginoong Rodriguez, signifying his style shift while keeping his remarkable rhyming intact. Ginoong Rodriguez proudly rapped about going through trials and tribulations and achieving inner peace. “44thComing” is the first of four solo releases from Illustrado.
Numerhus is taking a break from battling for now but he’s still very much active when it comes to making music. His new solo album “Ahyeah!!!” came out on the 12th of January and once again sees him in top form. Apart from his trademark unpredictable flow, Numerhus’ sharp vocabulary and innovative concepts are on full display here.
Sayadd’s “Siya” EP is the second solo Illustrado release of 2025. It’s an uninterrupted and unfiltered trip into the FlipTop veteran’s complex mind filled with dark imagery and thought-provoking lines. His distinct voice continues to add more madness to the already ominous vibe of the EP. “Siya” sees Sayadd not only in his most lyrical but also in his most introspective form.
M Zhayt, Slockone, and Bi$ente have joined forces to form the group known as VIPs. Their first single “MUV” was released on January 24. It’s a club rap track but the three emcees made sure to keep it lyrical throughout. Each one of them showcased their respective rhyming style on a beat that is guaranteed to get the party started.
When he’s not on the battle stage, he’s in the studio making hits. Apekz is back with a brand new single titled “Siglo”. It’s an upbeat love song that stands out thanks to a combination of Apekz’s melodic rapping, vivid imagery, and complex rhyming style. “Siglo” is indeed another proof of the 2019 Isabuhay Finalist’s flawless creativity in songwriting.
Over two years after his critically acclaimed Ahon 13 battle, Abra returns with a new banger. His latest track “Kontrol” was released on January 25 and quickly became trending. In this song, Abra did what he does best: put his crazy metaphors, clever rhyme schemes, and impeccable flow on display. He’s back and he’s showing no mercy.
It’s the final solo Illustrado project of 2025. “Limahid” is the debut EP of Goriong Talas and in this project, the inaugural Process of Illumination Champion elevated his skills even further. Not only did he flawlessly showcase his hard-hitting rhymes, raw aggression, and rapid-fire flow, but also his captivating storytelling. “Limahid” is a testament to Gorio’s diversity in rapping.
Hip-hop duo PARALLEL teams up with FlipTop original Apoc for the track “PROLIFIC”. It may be your traditional braggadocio rap jam but the three rappers kept it fresh with their undeniable chemistry and obviously, their impressive pen game and flow. After listening to the verses and beat, you will certainly agree with the title of the song.
“Mais” is Abra’s second single of the year and just like “Kontrol”, he’s taking no prisoners. He didn’t mention any names but if you listen closely, you would know who he’s targeting in his raps. As always, Abra went all out by showcasing his faultless rhyme schemes, wordplays, and flow. Don’t be surprised if this will be trending as well.
