We are now down to four! So far, this year’s Isabuhay Tournament has been exhilarating, thanks to the amazing performances of everyone involved. Now that we’re on our way to the semifinals, it looks like things will get even more exciting. Let’s talk about the remaining competitors in this historic contest. What makes this roster amazing is that everyone has given us game-changing moments in their previous battles. Let’s begin! SPOILER ALERT for those who weren’t able to watch the quarterfinals live and don’t want to know the results.

GL

GL proved in his battle with Sur Henyo at Unibersikulo 12 that originality remains his biggest strength. He continues to bring something new in terms of angles, concepts, and rhyme structure plus he’s now more aggressive in delivering his lines. GL is indeed a much bigger threat in the tournament now and don’t expect him to slow down at all, especially now that he’s heading to the semifinals. We can’t wait to see what he has in store in his next battle.

EJ Power

He was first known for his witty humor but now, he’s a much different beast. While his comedy is still intact, it has become much darker and he mixes it with hard-hitting bars. EJ Power’s presence has also improved vastly. When he starts rapping, you can feel the intensity in every bar, and he knows the right emotion to convey. It’s safe to say that EJ Power has mastered the art of performance and for sure, he’ll be much more dangerous in the next round.

SlockOne

A potential dark horse in the tournament, SlockOne has been silencing critics since his battle with CNine last year at Second Sight 11. He went all out in the first and second rounds of the 2024 Isabuhay, and in the semis, don’t be surprised if he gives a stronger performance. SlockOne maintained his raw aggression while spitting some of the best wordplay, metaphors, and references in the league. His quarterfinal matchup with Ruffian is already considered by many as a battle of the year contender.

Vitrum

Vitrum is another potential dark horse in the 2024 Isabuhay. His technical lines and incorporation of social issues remain effective but since last year, he added a more humorous approach to his style, making him a much bigger threat in the league. His type of comedy leans on the edgier side and it gained him a well-deserved larger following. He scored arguably his biggest win in FlipTop in the quarterfinals, defeating the veteran G-Clown. We’re certain he will surprise us once again in the semis.
