The Dos Por Dos Tournament made its much-awaited return at the Bwelta Balentong 11 event on September 21, 2024. This year’s edition is called Dos Por Dos2. What’s the reason behind the title? According to the Anygma, it’s a “remixed” version since there are only 8 pairs instead of the usual 16. What also makes the 2024 lineup so special is that it consists of emcees from the recent Won Minutes and Process of Illumination. It’s the perfect opportunity for the new breed of FlipTop emcees to step up!

The first round started at Bwelta Balentong 11 and concluded at Second Sight 13. Now, we are heading to the semifinals. Let’s take a close look at the final four teams who will be competing for the championship. SPOILER ALERT for those who haven’t seen the battles and are not updated with the tournament.

Caspher/Hespero
The duo of Caspher and Hespero won the very first match of Dos Por Dos2, defeating Kenzer and Mimack in an entertaining back-and-forth affair. They have flawless chemistry and have mastered the well-rounded style. Thanks to their intense delivery, each line they spit is much more effective. If they remain consistent, don’t be surprised if they easily reach the finals.

Aubrey/Marichu
Aubrey and Marichu proved they’re a force to be reckoned with at Second Sight 13. Their battle with Sickreto and Article Clipted was a hard-hitting bout and they bagged the W. Their strong presence was felt throughout and no one can deny the impact of their creative angles and heavy bars. They also showed the perfect definition of teamwork from the first to the third round. In the semis, expect an even more ruthless performance from them.

Negho Gy/Pamoso
Negho Gy and Pamoso vs Deadline and RG was another back-and-forth match for the Dos Por Dos2 quarterfinals. After three rounds, the judges gave it to the team of Negho Gy and Pamoso. Their presence is more laidback but their verses and angles remain highly effective. Apart from their clever wordplays and metaphors, they’re also known for their complex rhyme schemes. This team is arguably the biggest threat when it comes to pen game.

Cygnus/Atoms
The majority of those who watched Second Sight 13 live agree that Cygnus and Atoms vs Jawz and Bisente was the battle of the night. Everyone witnessed not only innovative bars and concepts but also raw aggression and rapid-fire flows. The tandem of Cygnus and Atoms won via split decision. Their brilliant mix of comedy and brutal rhymes plus their undeniable chemistry make them a serious threat in this tournament. If they continue bringing something unique to their overall styles, we might see them in the finals.
