Intro:
Good evening
This is an ode to mankind
For the downtrodden and exasperated The helpless
Lost orphans looking for their way home Lost adults looking for their inner children
The fire was stolen from the sky and we were left with a spark and a flicker They continued to subjugate us by burning us to cinders
And as the sun disappeared,
The real threat was about to come
In the form of a dark spiraling cloud with thunders
I.
Storms in the sky veil the glisten of the sun Stare it in the eye… then shoot it with a gun Soak up on its rain, learn to float over the waves There's no violent wind that can blow you away
But the overcast seems to never dissipate to smoke (dissipate to smoke) Any glint of hope is but a scintillating hoax (scintillating hoax)
Misery's an overly debilitating force
So if life is headed nowhere, why anticipate its course?
Hook:
We drown in our sorrows with distraction and a bottle Try again tomorrow but you're never full throttle
You cry 'cause your permanent smile is deformed Latched to the ground despite the skies you could soar
Never wished for anything remotely extraordinary Just a set of people you can proudly call a family It feels like you lost what you consider a home But everyone's alone, so you are not alone
You are not alone
II.
At our genesis, we're unaware of good and evil
'Til our inner-serpent slithered and permitted what's forbidden How can it be rosy in the garden of Eden
When before the rib was taken, Eve was already a sinner?
As you see... all the ills of society
You understand why people are relinquishing their sobriety They’d rather drown in the quiet of the river
Than be stifled in the air polluted with quicksilver
Swift trigger to the chest, tired of the struggle You wish to see the light in the end of the tunnel
Disowned by your parents and alone in your battles Uncharismatic to be the dragon slayer in the castle
Every man is destined to drown in the waterscape Where the kings' holy grails runneth over as they reign The meaning of life is just the engine of a film
A meaningless ride in the fine game of nil
(Take a moment to reverse the tape and play the words
It's a play in words, there's a new tale when they're reversed) Ha!
Hook:

You are not alone
III.
In some ways, your brain is like a house of glass It holds a giant doorway you couldn't pass
It contains everything about you except you
You slowly get angry 'cause you couldn't get through it
So you want to break the glass to get out of this depression
But it comes with the consequence of smashing your own reflection
Every piece of you broken and cracked Shattered to a million fragments in one blast
No one wants to help you once you're dead inside the void You're left alone to deal with your demons and paranoia
But there is an angel waiting to save you from your misdemeanors So long as you let yourself go, submerge under the sea
As you approach the mighty eye of the hurricane
You're already halfway, and I know that you’re gonna make it The sun will rise again, this won't be forever
We will brave this storm all together

Hook II:
We learned how to float over the waters with a bubble Maybe tomorrow is as vibrant as the rainbow in the puddle You smile 'cause your wings are now flying with colors You are a brainchild scarred who survived through the war
Now that you have risen way above the hurricane Your empathy for the plight of the poor is permeating We should never cease 'til everyone has a home
So humanity can truly never call herself alone ever again
Outro:
Every individual has a world of burden in their shoulders
We all have the tendency to cross-reference accomplishments with others Not knowing it's like comparing your storm to their drizzle
I can go on and on but I know you understand what I'm trying to say
IV.
One day I'll wake up alone (One day I'll wake up alone)
Looking for every vestige of family left
Aching for memories spent in this sweet little home
Promise you wouldn't be dead (Promise you wouldn't be dead)
I wonder if all of my friends are waiting in heaven Looking at me 'cause my fate is different
Toss the hallucinogenics (Toss the hallucinogenics)
I am delusional, I have no future
I am a soulless extension of my own computer
I'm going insane, there's no one to save me I'm breaking the habit of vices and daydream Promises broken, wiping my slate clean
With a bit of energy and remedy, I'll break free.....
