Unfortunately, just two weeks after Romano’s passing, we’ve lost another good one. Earlier today, Erlan Ray Dapitan, a.k.a Teddy Bar,s a.k.a Nanan of Davao City has passed away due to illness. FlipTop fans will probably recognize him for his cameos in Nikki’s battles against Sinio and Plazma. His appearances are some of the best and funniest moments in the league. When he steps on stage, prepare for some unpredictable humor.
Apart from participating in battles, Teddy Bars is also an emcee and producer. He had a special battle against M Zhayt at the 6th Process of Illumination Mindanao Division (28:22-35:37) in 2018. It was a promo battle, and both emcees got the crowd even more hyped up. Teddy Bars is the founder of Loco Space Records. As a producer, he has made beats for several artists in the label’s roster. Most importantly, he was a close friend to many in the Mindanao Division.
We, the FlipTop staff and emcees, offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends. To Teddy, thank you so much for all of the memorable moments. We will never forget you! Rest in power, and say hi to our friends there. We’ll make sure your legacy will live on. For those who wish to pay their respects, his wake is in room 108 at St. Peter Panacan.
