On the 21st of December 2024, we will witness the finals of arguably the most exciting edition of the Isabuhay Tournament. GL and Vitrum will face off for the grand prize and the championship title. Fans are divided between the two emcees, which shows how unpredictable this matchup is. Both rappers did stellar jobs representing their respective styles and managed to bring something new throughout. At Ahon 15, everyone is expecting them to take it to an even higher level. As we approach the finals, let’s take a close look at both competitors and the possible factors that could lead to their victory.
GL
GL’s concept-based approach continues to be his most effective tool. He keeps the audience engaged all the way through, and when he connects the dots in the third round, you can always expect a loud reaction. The way he can make complex concepts accessible to the audience is something that will be studied by future generations. As long as he remains creative with his storytelling, this method will remain unpredictable.
While being a technical lyricist is nothing new to battle rap, GL still manages to stand out. He has the ability to come up with wordplays, metaphors, and references that have never been dropped before, with each one hitting hard. If he keeps his originality intact without sacrificing punching power, he will be a dominant force in the finals.
Vitrum
Dark humor is often a risky approach in today’s climate but Vitrum is one of the emcees in FlipTop who makes it work. When he started incorporating comedic elements into his already-shocking material, it immediately turned him into a more legit threat. Vitrum’s grim style of comedy is so effective because aside from keeping it related to the opponent, he always adds wit and creativity to every bar. He doesn’t do it strictly for shock value; he does it for the art form.
Vitrum also has an advantage in the finals when it comes to delivery. His aggression is felt all over the venue, thus adding more impact to each punchline. We have seen a few other ruthless spitters in the league before but Vitrum’s madman character is different because he can still balance comedy and brutal lines.
