If you’re still unaware of the results of the semifinals of the 2024 Isabuhay Tournament and would like to avoid spoilers, then this is where you should stop reading. For those who’ve witnessed it live or knew the results on social media, you can read along. Today, we’re going to talk about the two emcees who will be facing off at Ahon 15 for the grand prize and championship title. Before we proceed, let us not forget to give props to the other rappers on the lineup for their memorable performances. It’s indeed one of the most exhilarating editions of Isabuhay ever so far.

SlockOne vs Vitrum was a hard-hitting affair. Both of them took no prisoners with their material, making way for some of the most devastating lines in Philippine battle rap. SlockOne stumbled in round 1 but was able to bounce back in rounds 2 and 3. Vitrum was consistent throughout and his bars kept getting better and better. His third round is a candidate for verse of the year. It’s relentless and unfiltered without abandoning his impressive overall pen game. We won’t be shocked if his angles and dark humor will trigger a few individuals! Be warned! Vitrum wasn’t just the more vicious but also the more “complete package” emcee that night.

GL vs EJ Power is a clear candidate for the battle of the year, according to those who saw it live. It was a back-and-forth war that highlighted the distinct styles of both rappers. GL went in with his concept-based attacks and intricate rhyme schemes while EJ brought his creative brand of comedy mixed with some heavy bars. They dropped haymaker after haymaker which made the crowd go wild. After three very close rounds, the judges gave it to GL. The Leyte representative’s innovative lyricism plus intense presence left everyone in awe. As for EJ Power, many claim that his slight choke in the third round led to his loss. Some even went as far as saying that it could’ve gone either way. What we all know for certain is that this matchup is one for the books!

So it’s going to be GL vs Vitrum in the finals of this historic Isabuhay Tournament. The semifinal bouts were already epic and based on the performance of the finalists, it looks like we’re in for an even more exciting battle at Ahon 15. While they’re different when it comes to writing style and delivery, they share the same confidence and charisma on stage. It’s unpredictable and that’s what makes this battle a must-see.

Who do you think will win the championship? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section. For those who weren’t able to attend Bwelta Balentong 11, watch out for the semifinal matches! The wait will be worth it. Of course, don’t sleep on the other battles as well. We believe that EVERY bout in the event delivered. The next affair is Second Sight 13.
